Met kantoren op alle werelddelen, is dit bedrijf in staat hun diensten en "know-how" wereldwijd aan te bieden, waarbij het "kloppend hart" van het bedrijf in Nederland is gevestigd. General description
The Subcontracting & Contract Administration Department is responsible for the administration of main contracts with Clients and to secure and administrate subcontracts and (frame) agreements against the best terms and conditions for the company General responsibilities
- The Contracts Engineer is responsible to ensure all requirements for main contracts with Clients, contracts
and (frame) agreements with subcontractors are comprehensively met;
- The Contracts Engineer is responsible to operate within the organisation interfacing with all
Job specific tasks Main contracts:
- Extract and define all contractual and commercial requirements from the main contract between the company and its Clients;
- Co-ordinate internal contract review and follow up queries. (MP 3.2);
- Ensure all contractual requirements and milestones are implemented in project master schedule;
- Ensure all correspondence to and from Client is controlled;
- Initiate and issue variations, in consultation with Project Manager, to Client;
- Pass on Variation Order Requests, imposed by subcontractors, to Client;
- Register and control Variation Order Requests and Variation Orders;
- Follow up and reach agreement on disputes with Client;
- Initiate the timely issue of invoices to Client in accordance with the contract;
- Participate in meetings with Client.
Subcontracts:
- In co-operation with internal customers (projects or vessels) define subcontracting needs, for the
short and long-term, and advising and inform internal customers about possibilities and alternatives; Issue enquiries for subcontracts and evaluate quotations in consultation with internal customers;
- Negotiate and conclude commitments, subcontracts and (frame) agreements, within the current
authorisation procedure, for prices, technical aspects, terms & conditions etc. while limiting financial and legal risks, in consultation with requisitioner/discipline engineer;
- Ensure Client and the company requirements are imposed on subcontractors;
- Initiate and maintain communication and consultation with other relevant departments;
- Manage subcontractor relations which includes a/o;
- Present Allseas as an attractive and reliable business partner;
- Initiate and maintain long-term relationships with key- subcontractors and partners;
- Manage the improvement of an up-to-date subcontractor filing system in the department;
- Administration of subcontracts after award;
- Ensure Quality and Safety Management Systems are in place and maintained;
- Ensure compliance with the project master schedule;
- Ensure timely reporting by subcontractor(s) in accordance with subcontract;
- Register and control of Variation Order Requests and Variation Orders initiated by subcontractor(s);
- Follow up and settle disputes and claims from subcontractor;
- Review of subcontractors’ invoices.
General:
- Analysing the contracting market (structures, market shares, prices, terms and conditions, technology,
products etc.);
- Anticipate and/or assist with implementing new systems that enhance the effectiveness of contracting,
including office automation systems, cost control procedures etc.; |

- TU / HBO (Civil / Mechanical / Business Administration)
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar environment (offshore, shipbuilding or petro-chemical industry)
of which some 3 - 5 years in (sub) contracting preferable;
- Excellent market knowledge;
- General technical knowledge;
- Sound knowledge of the industry and professional qualifications are required;
- A comprehensive experience in contracting language and techniques whereby preparation / evaluation /
execution of (sub) contracts is preferred;
- English language, fluently written and spoken.
- Communication and commercial skills;
- Excellent negotiation and contracting skills:
- Accurate, flexible and an initiator;
- Team player.
